Girls Golf 2023 Tryout Dates:
Thursday, August 10th at 3:30-4:30pm at Vista Valencia (Driving Range) Golf Course. See Athletic Tryout Schedule here.
1. You must have your own clubs
2. All current and potential players must attend the tryouts

Athletic Clearance/Physical:
You need to get a sports physical and fill out some athletic clearance information. Our athletic directors have made this process as simple as possible. Please click here to go to the Athletic Paperwork page on the Hart Website for more information. This needs to be done before the school year starts in August since our season starts so quickly.

Day 1 (11/14): Assessing the player's skills with the driver, irons, and putter.
Parents' Meeting:
Wednesday, January 10th at 7:00 P.M. in room Q3 at Hart High
Athletic Clearance/Physical:

This needs to be completed before the second semester starts in January so that you can begin practicing.
Tryout Information
What do you do at tryouts?
Coaches will observe you on the practice range and putting green. You will have time to warm up and then the coaches will evaluate your game in the following areas:
Day 1 - Skills

On the Driving Range

3-5 shots going for the Green Flag (75 yards)

3-5 shots with a 7 Iron

3-5 shots with a Driver

On the Green

3 putts from 3 feet

3 putts from 9 feet

3-5 chips from 10-15 feet

Day 2 - Course Work

On Chica (Par 3 course)

Players will play a round on Chica and submit a score (the score is only part of the tryout process)

Important Note about Tryouts: Coaches are looking for both scores and potential. We know not every shot will be perfect and are taking notes on how we can best develop you as a player and how you recover from a shot that didn't turn out the way you had planned.
General Information about the team:

Players must be properly dressed in Golf attire.

Each player needs to have their own clubs.

We practice at Vista Valencia Golf Course, and that is where tryouts will be held.

Each player should have the "Players Club" Membership from Vista Valencia.

This membership is a monthly fee and can be cancelled at any time, but during the season this allows for free greens fees for their 9-hole course, Chica, and provides a discounted rate on their 18-hole course. The membership also provides a large bucket of balls to practice with at their practice facility every day. This is a necessity for us to use their facility and keep costs down. More information about the Players Club can be found at Vista Valencia Golf Course.
